Through my photographs, I explore the interplay of light, atmosphere, texture, and place, inviting viewers to experience familiar landscapes with fresh eyes.
I first discovered photography as a young child watching my father take pictures of just about anything with his Polaroid camera. I was fascinated watching those colors and shapes gradually fill the little page as the film developed right before my eyes! Early in my career I met a professional photographer who taught me about color, composition and movement. Over the years I moved on from my film camera - oh, how I miss shooting on film! - to point and shoot cameras and eventually the iPhone. Several years ago, I embraced the Digital Era and have been honing my craft ever since including studying with Liza Politi, award-winning photographer Ari Espay, and National Geographic legend, Joe McNally.
My work has been included in social media campaigns and promotions for a range of organizations and destinations, including the Association of Bahamas Marinas, Bahamas, Bahamas Out Islands, Blue Water Safaris, Eleuthera Bahamas, Grand Isle Resort, Islanders Magazine, Orleans Cape Cod, The Cove Atlantis, The Hess Collection Winery, Treasure Cay Resort, and Treasure Sands Club. I am also expanding my engagement with local arts communities as a member of the Carriage Barn Arts Center, Rowayton Arts Center, and Stamford Art Association.
Special thanks to my friends and family, all the photographers who have inspired my journey - especially Michael Downey, Ari Espay, Bruce Getty, Jennifer Khordi, Joe McNally, Temu Nana, Liza Politi, and Rob Surrency - and my number one cheerleader, Maggie Jennings.
